About Leah Fand

Leah (Pinkas) Fand, M.S., CCC-SLP is a New Jersey State licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist.  She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).  She also continues to be a current member of New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association.  Leah received her Bachelor’s Degree at Towson University and her Master’s Degree at Seton Hall University. Leah currently works at a public school in Bergen County, NJ where she serves students with a wide variety of speech and language delays. Additionally, she provides home-based speech and language services throughout Bergen County!

Leah has extensive experience in assessing and treating children with a wide variety of articulation and phonological disorders, learning disabilities, fluency impairments, feeding delays, pragmatic language disorders, and expressive and receptive language disorders. She has also provided diagnostic and therapeutic services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Down Syndrome, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Additionally, Leah is  P.R.O.M.P.T. trained  (level 1) and has experience with the Visualizing and Verbalizing Language Comprehension program by Pat Lindamood and Nanci Bell.

Leah enjoys assessing and treating children of all ages. She strives to create a unique, fun, and positive learning environment for her clients. She believes that a team approach is the best way to support her clients in working toward achieving their speech and language goals. Leah encourages collaboration with teachers, parents, and other therapists in order to facilitate the most optimal and successful working environment. She understands the importance of treating the “whole” child as part of the intervention process.
